2. Expand Your Vocabulary

I'm back on track and trying to work my way through 100 Ways to Improve Your Writing. I have to confess I'm drawn into book with 100, 101, or 1,001 in the title. I feel like I'm getting a lot from a book 100 Ways to Improve your Writing. I confess I have a small collection of books that has 100+ in the title.

2.  Expand Your Vocabulary -  I'm trying. I got the Visual Thesaurus which is

"The Visual Thesaurus is an interactive dictionary and thesaurus which creates word maps that blossom with meanings and branch to related words. Its innovative display encourages exploration and learning. You'll understand language in a powerful new way.

Say you have a meaning in mind, like "happy." The VT helps you find related words, from "cheerful" to "euphoric." The best part is the VT works like your brain, not a paper-bound book. You'll want to explore just to see what might happen. You'll discover -- and learn -- naturally and intuitively. You'll find the right word, write more descriptively, free associate -- and gain a more precise understanding of the English language." - from How it Works Page.

I love it! I get a new word a day via email, and it's helping me with my spelling, as well. It's well worth the $19.95 subscription. The website is now in my toolbar, and I try to spend about 10 minutes a day learning words or playing the game. I should probably  spend my 30 minutes of Pinterest time on the Visual Thesaurus site but I really like looking at cupcakes and organization ideas.
